MP Richard Spring visits Cangle Foyer
At the invitation of staff at Cangle Foyer, Haverhill, Richard visited the Foyer to learn more
about their newly launched Healthy Transitions Programme. Helga Bailey, Specialist Support Worker, contacted Richard to tell him about the project which will provide life coaching and encourage healthy eating and physical activity amongst young people. Cangle Foyer is part of
the English Churches Housing Group (ECHG) and provides supported housing to young
people aged 16-25. ECHG has obtained assistance from the Big Lottery to launch the
project.
Richard said about his visit: “I was very pleased to learn about the Healthy Transitions Project.
This is an excellent initiative involving young people living at the Cangle Foyer and I am sure
they will be enthusiastic about taking part. I was pleased to learn more about the life coaching
and wellbeing skills which I hope will greatly benefit the young people living at Cangle. There
are so many good things happening at Cangle and I am extremely supportive of all the staff and volunteers who work there. I applaud them on their hard work and dedication to the wellbeing
of young people who might otherwise struggle to find a home and make a good start in life.”
